| Saturday/Sunday 4/5 -4/6 Saturday 4/19-20 |
The Troop will be hiking up and over Sunrise Annual Camp Geronimo Service Project. We have done this activity for two goals:1) we get our required service project for this summer camp session finished before the busy week at camp + more fun at camp); 2) This event allows incoming Webelos to get a feel for Camp Geronimo (summer camp), leading to a better week at camp for the Scouts(and the adult leaders). Friday 4/18 and Saturday 4/19 departures from the CCOV. |
| APRIL 25-27 |
Havasupai Trip New Scouts may attend, with parent in attendance and demonstrated ability on our Havasupai check hikes.(see 3/29 above) See me or Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Dickinson if you have interest. It is a 12 mile each way....... a little down hill at first then flat on Saturday, followed by a flat trail with a little climb out of the Canyon to the cars. |
| Saturday May 17-18 July 22-28 |
Black River Hike 50 Miler Colorado |
EQUIPMENT
The troop has equipment for the existing patrols (tents, coolers, stoves, fuel canisters, pots, spatulas, soup serving spoons, etc.). Proceeds from fundraisers will be used to purchase equipment for the Troop as needed. Scouts will need to buy personal equipment, available through the Council store or at camping outfitters (e.g. REI or Popular). We strongly suggest that you mark all your personal equipment with your Scout's name.
Beyond the Class A and B uniforms and the Handbook, the general categories of personal equipment a scout needs to have are backpacking and camping gear.
A list with information on the various types of backpacking and camping equipment is below. Please contact one of the troop leaders for specific advice.
